Genuine Finland

Help & instructions

Get started with Genuine Finland

Find local places, save them for later or publish your own offering. Choose the path that fits what you want to do.

What would you like to do?

The service has simple tools for visitors and a separate workspace for local providers.

Discover places as a visitor

Browsing does not require an account. Location access is optional, but it helps show what is closest to you.

Find what is nearby

Allow location access or use search, then choose a distance and category. The map and lists follow the same filters.

Use it on any device

Genuine Finland works directly in a browser on phones, tablets and computers, with nothing to install. A phone gives the best experience when you are travelling and looking for nearby places.

Open a listing

Select a place to see its description, opening information, photos, contact details, website and directions when provided.

Save favorites

Use the heart button to keep interesting places together. Signed-in favorites follow your account; otherwise they remain in this browser.

Keep places available offline

Open a listing and save it to the separate offline list. Open that list from the download icon at the top or from Profile. Offline copies stay only on this device and browser.

Choose your privacy settings

Essential storage keeps the service working. Optional usage analytics is recorded only when you allow it, and you can change the choice from Profile.

Publish as a local provider

Provider tools are kept separate from ordinary browsing. An active membership is required to publish listings.

1

Create and verify your account

Create a provider account with your email, open the confirmation message and sign in. Use password reset if you can no longer sign in.

2

Activate your membership

During the introductory offer, the administrator activates your free three-month membership. It does not renew or become paid automatically.

3

Complete your provider profile

Add your public name, description, contact information, location and profile image. You decide which optional details to provide.

4

Create a listing

Add a title, category, description and location. Photos, links, contact details, dates and daily opening times can be added when relevant.

5

Review and publish

Save unfinished work as a draft. Publish when the information is ready. You can create up to five listings and edit or remove them later.

6

Follow and maintain

The dashboard shows listing status, visitor actions, favorites, reviews and reports. Keep availability and content current.

7

Download a listing QR code

Open Provider dashboard and My listings. A published, active listing has a Listing QR code button. Open it to download a PNG or copy the direct link for signs, packaging and printed material. If the listing becomes a draft, expires or is deleted, the same QR code no longer shows its content.

Control stays with you

Your content and account choices

You can update your information, download account data, change analytics consent, cancel membership or request account deletion from Profile.

When a membership ends, public listings are hidden. Provider content is kept privately for 90 days for a possible return, unless earlier deletion is requested.

Quick answers

When something does not work

The map does not show the right area

Check the browser's location permission and selected distance. You can still browse with search and categories without sharing your location.

The confirmation email did not arrive

Check spam and other filtered folders, then confirm that the address was typed correctly. Contact support if the message still does not arrive.

My offline list is missing

Offline places belong to the browser and device where they were saved. Clearing site data or using another device removes access to that local copy.

My listing statistics still show zero

Only real visitor actions are counted, and optional analytics requires the visitor's consent. Your own tests or ordinary list browsing may not increase every counter.

How do I leave the service?

Open Profile and Account & membership to cancel. Account deletion is a separate privacy action under Privacy & data.

Still need help?

Send support a message and describe what you were trying to do. A screenshot is often useful, but never include your password.
